Sale of the Week: the West End house that shows just how powerful a bully bid can be
A detached home in the West End that become a one-day wonder.
There’s a sun room for shoes and jackets before the front door opens into the living room:
Here’s the dining room:
And the kitchen:
This is one of four bedrooms on the second floor:
And here’s the master, which is about the same size as the others (including one that’s not pictured):
There’s a washer and dryer in the basement:
And a nice spot for silently staring into emptiness:
There’s a detached garage out back. The yard could use a little love:
The sellers bought the home 25 years ago and made periodic updates: a new kitchen, veranda, windows and, most recently, garage. They’re listing now to downsize, since it’s just the two of them.
Location was a major priority for the buyer, a couple. The home’s proximity to the subway, and its move-in-ready condition, sealed the deal.
The house had about 10 showings, but the eventual buyers were so keen that they put in a bully offer right away. At $304,000 over asking, it convinced the sellers, and the house was sold in one day.
