This home, in tony Hoggs Hollow, has about 8,900 square feet of living space divided among five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The brick and limestone exterior does a better job of imitating an antique facade than many other homes of this vintage. (Even the garage doors were designed to blend in with the stonework.)
The interior is lined with ridiculously opulent wood panelling (mahogany in the library, above, and oak everywhere else), the basement has a home theatre and gym, and the master bedroom has a view of a creek that runs through the backyard.
The seller is Jo-Anne O’Connor, a former managing director at CIBC World Markets, who bought the property with her husband for $770,000 in 1998. They hired Po Ku to build this house on the site. It was completed in 2000.
For a home built just over 15 years ago, though, the woodwork is pretty extraordinary.
