Condomonium: $1.5 million for a space in trendy Liberty Village’s Toy Factory Lofts
ADDRESS: 43 Hanna Avenue, Unit 311
NEIGHBOURHOOD: South Parkdale
AGENT: Caroline Bokar, Forest Hill Real Estate Inc.
PRICE: $1,499,000
THE PLACE: A corner unit in Liberty Village’s Toy Factory Lofts, a century-old building that once housed the Irwin Toy factory.
BRAGGING RIGHTS: Longevity. With all the panic over “throwaway condos,” there’s something gloat-worthy about a building that has this kind of durability—the original steel girders and exposed brick walls not only look pretty, they were built to last.
BIG SELLING POINT: It’s ideal for work-from-home types. There’s more than enough room in the open-concept living area for office space, and the built-in bar area is great for occasional (or frequent) stress-relieving tipples. Plus, the lobby’s been hooked up with Wi-Fi and freelancing tenants have been known to congregate there to make working from home more social.
POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: Congestion. Dead-end streets and a condo boom have created traffic chaos in Liberty Village. (But the city’s considering building a new street in the ’hood to help ease congestion, so maybe that will change).

Love, love, love this one. The brickwork, ceilings, terrace. Its just lovely. Not loving, however, those dreary grey kitchen cabinets – poor colour choice. (I also miss the witty comments with each picture).
$1.5 million to live in what appears to be the West Elm showroom? This looks like a $425k condo which would be overpriced at that. What is there to this other than “trendy”?
Like this one – but 1.5 million + maintenance fees is way over the top.
Beautiful space but definitely overpriced. Love the artwork and rugs.
Big fan of the Toy factory lofts! Possibly a future home for myself. However, I really don’t like the kitchen. I think 1.5 million seems reasonable considering it can have three bedrooms. I may be alone in this though. haha
NEWS -. BANK RUN -TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO.CARIBBEAN. WEST INDIES, REPUBLIC , ROYAL , FIRST CITIZEN and SCOTIABANK . Customers are simultaneously closing their accounts fearing imminent bankruptcy and insolvency. Already failed in the same countries two large financial corporations CLICO and HCU. Over $700 a square foot in South Parkdale! Just a little over priced.
nice but way overpriced. You can see its someone with kids, tired of the congestion in canada’s most over rated area with a nice place who wants to sell and move into a big house. Wonder if they have a view of the parking lot and dominion. Actually love the kitchen…
I agree with most of the comments, I like some things about this loft but if I had 1.5 million dollars, I would be looking elsewhere…
$1.5 M and I don’t even see a bathtub…
I really loved this place when I reviewed it back in December. But looks like the posters on this site aren’t alone with thinking that it is over priced as it is still on the market.
Almost every piece of furniture in their living/dining/kitchen is brown leather (even another chair in one of the bedrooms), how bland, boring, one dimensional, and old fashioned, which is too bad because it’s a lovely apartment.
