Condomonium: $1.2 million for a suite in a former Sunday school near Dovercourt and Bloor
ADDRESS: 110 Hepbourne Street, Unit 103
NEIGHBOURHOOD: Dufferin Grove
AGENT: Christopher Dunlop, Royal LePage Estate Realty
PRICE: $1,150,000
THE PLACE: A two-level suite in Hepbourne Hall, an extension to the Dovercourt–St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church that was converted into 21 lofts in 1992. The building wasn’t just used for Sunday school classes—the 1940s Maple Leafs used the gym for off-season training.
BRAGGING RIGHTS: The unit has a “cube room,” which is not the setting of a Canadian sci-fi movie, but a family room with perfect 13’8-by-13’8 dimensions, high ceilings and access to an outdoor terrace.
BIG SELLING POINT: As a ground-floor unit with ensuite parking, this place is perfect for condo lovers who don’t care for skyscrapers.
POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: This building is self-managed (hence the low maintenance fees), which could be a downside for buyers used to the professional management in larger buildings.
BY THE NUMBERS:
• $1,150,000
• 2,225 square feet of interior space
• $396.62 in monthly maintenance fees
• 180-square-foot terrace

Beautiful; lots of character; a great house alternative given its size. Well priced too.
Beautifully done. Warm with great finishes. Cannot imagine opting for a high rise when you could have this.
absolutely beautiful.. one of thee top best homes featured here yet- it has soo much warmth – and full of character- I love the traditional style- wish I had this…
it is a lovely space and layout overall, but i do think some of the finishes are unfortunate choices, such as: the granite in the kitchen and bathroom. the granite doesn’t seem to complement or enhance the tile on the floor in the kitchen, and i don’t think mimicking the bathroom and kitchen granite is ever a good idea. the brass knobs on the bathroom cabinets are…ugly, and inconsistent with the silver finishes in the rest of the bathroom. the glass blocks feel a bit eighties to me.
Wouldn’t pay 1.2MM for this
I love it. Lots of light. Also, the fees are reasonable.
Lovely, but overpriced with bad finishes.
What is it with Canadians and dark wood this looks so dated
LOVE
Does anyone know where the white desk is from in the second bedroom that’s being used as an office?
…yes about that desk…that is a gem. I agree about the dark wood finishes…dark absorbs so much light and it gloomy at times. However despite that negativity I certainly loved it and such curb appeal, beautiful really and I also took note of the light fixture over the dining area (think it was) and I liked that fixtures a great deal.
Do not love the kitchen floor or the step up to the tub…
