Condomonium: $1.3 million for a bona fide loft space with a private elevator
ADDRESS: 1 Columbus Avenue, Unit 302
NEIGHBOURHOOD: Roncesvalles
AGENT: Robin Pope, Brad J. Lamb Realty Inc.
PRICE: $1,295,000
THE PLACE: Roncesvalles may be overrun with arty cafes and doggie daycares now, but back in the day it was home to all kinds of industrial endeavors. Built in 1902, this five-storey building was once a factory that churned out baseball gloves and was converted into ten condo lofts 15 years ago by Jackson Goad Architects.
BRAGGING RIGHTS: While developers are putting up loft-style condos across the city, this one’s the real deal. The original brick and beams are exposed and intact, and it has a private elevator that takes you straight into the living area.
BIG SELLING POINT: Space. The master bedroom is roughly 18-feet by 14-feet and the second bedroom isn’t much smaller. The den can even be repurposed as a third bedroom.
POSSIBLE DEAL BREAKER: Sadly, sliding across the hardwood floors in your socks doesn’t actually count as exercise—if you want an on-site gym, pool, or tennis court, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
BY THE NUMBERS:
• $1,295,000
• 2,300 square feet
• $736.47 in monthly maintenance fees
• 10-foot ceilings
• 3 parking spaces
• 2 bedrooms
• 2 bathrooms
• 1 balcony
• 1 private elevator

It’s pretty nice. But it’s spensive!
How did this get valued at 1.3 million? Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see how it could be worth that much, it’s nice however not 1.3 million nice.
One Columbus has been one of the stops on my 10LoftsInADay tours for years. Its certainly not a starter loft but priced in the $500s/sqft does make it a better value than some cookie cutter spaces priced over $700/sqft. Not only are they not making any more land….they are just not converting old factories into memorable lofts like this one.
Invite me over so I can run with melted-chocolate on my hands
