This tiny café has the cozy, rich feel of a Victorian study, with an edgy, modern twist. A selection of simple yet sophisticated sandwiches is served up daily, from grilled aged cheddar with pesto and apple to avocado, roasted red pepper and hummus. There’s choice for seafood lovers, too, as in salmon fillet wrap with caramelized onions, arugula and goat cheese. Salads range from simple mixed greens to the niçoise, with green beans, eggs, capers, olives and potatoes. A daily pasta and daily quiche, plus one other hot plate (of chicken or fish), round out the menu. Unlicensed. Mains $7.95–$10.95.
