Led by Esmeralda Enrique, one of Canada’s pre-eminent flamenco dancers and teachers, the academy attracts young would-be Spanish dancers, who practise to the sound of a strumming guitar. Lessons (for children six to 15 years old) emphasize coordination, agility and musicality, culminating in a year-end recital. Several different types of Spanish dance are taught at the academy, including regional, classical and flamenco.
