This popular franchise buys, sells and trades goods for most of the major sports: skiing, snowboarding, golf and soccer. But the staff seem to live and breathe hockey. Sponsor of eight to 12 neighbourhood house league teams, the business has built a reputation in the Queensway area as the place to bring your kids before hockey season begins. With a checklist in hand, a staff member takes the novice around the store and shows them what they need. For $150 to $300, a parent can fully equip a young hockey star in used gear. Used and consignment skates, including those made by Nike and Bauer, range from $20 to $300. Personal items—cups, supporters and garter belts—are all new.
