Dentonia Park is irons only—no woods or metal woods are allowed on the course. The good news is that you likely aren’t going to need a driver at this city-run par three course: 13 holes are between 93 and 112 yards, and only two are more than 140 yards. Dentonia is generally in good condition, although three holes currently have Astroturf tee mats. The course is conveniently located near Victoria Park station, making it ideal for young beginners who don’t have access to a car. Clinics and camps run throughout the summer. Don’t try the “sign up for a foursome, come as a twosome and claim the other two guys are sick” trick. The starter here is ruthless and will hold you back until he can pair you up.

18 holes, 2,176 yards, par 54
