Algonquin Outfitters Guided Canoe Trips

Daylong excursions organized by Algonquin Outfitters are popular with newbie and old-hand paddlers alike. A favourite destination is Hailstorm Creek, known for its exceptional wildlife-watching opportunities. It would normally take three or four hours of hard paddling on the Opeongo River’s often choppy waters to reach the creek, but AO offers drop-off by a water taxi specially outfitted to carry canoes (it will also ferry your safety equipment and lunch). Adventurers are left to explore until the pickup time four or five hours later. Longer trips, outfitting services and equipment rentals are also available.
Driving Time:
three and a half hours.
When:
weekend trips mid-June to late Sept.; Hailstorm Creek May to Oct.
How Much:
weekend guided trip, $375–$395 per person (all-inclusive); Hailstorm Creek from $60 per person.
