Balancing entertainment with history, this museum is located in Thomson Memorial Park. Of the four structures composing the museum, two are 150-year-old buildings. The McCowan Log House was a typical starter home for first-generation Scottish immigrant farmers during the 19th century. Thick walled and simply furnished, its three small rooms are heated by a massive fireplace. Palatial by comparison, the white clapboard Cornell House was the two-storey village home to a family of second-generation farmers. The museum is known for its food-focused holiday events, such as the Victorian Cream Tea Sunday on the May long weekend.
