Wolf Parade

Wolf Parade’s music has a nervous energy that’s infectious. While songs by the Montreal band’s two singer-musicians, Spencer Krug and Dan Boeckner, occasionally bear the anthemic qualities of Bruce Springsteen at his most spirited, Wolf Parade’s performances are too twitchily intense for the group to ever qualify as an arena rocker. Nevertheless, its sterling second album for Seattle label Sub Pop, At Mount Zoomer (2008), may very well put Wolf Parade into the first tier of today’s indie-rock heroes.—Jason Anderson
