It might have something to do with all the young hipsters and their beard-sporting, sailor hat–donning ways, but these kings of ’70s FM rock are perilously close to cool again—new-school smoothies such as Phoenix and The Feeling owe them an obvious debt. Not that Donald Fagen and Walter Becker have ever tried very hard—they’re too wise and wiseassed to ever break a sweat. Together with a band of seasoned players, they commemorate the release of Becker’s second solo disc, Circus Money (2008), with a summer tour. — Jason Anderson
