With the release of her second CD, Make Someone Happy, this Toronto-based singer’s ascension has been quick—she’s even penetrated the American Billboard charts. Just 24, Milman has the rarest of gifts: a distinctive voice that combines a light clarity with a husky undertone. Lending an element of freshness to such classic standards as “People Will Say We’re in Love,” her voice also gives depth to pop and novelty material by Stevie Wonder, the Guess Who and the Muppets.
