The Design Exchange is offering a glimpse of the super-suave stereos that epitomized 1960s cool and held such promise for Canadian design—especially the iconic Project G, with its bookending satellite-style speakers, famously owned by Hugh Hefner and Frank Sinatra. Made by the company co-founded by mining magnate Peter Munk and designer David Gilmour, the stereos (and later TVs) entered the popular imagination via a series of provocative ads and a 1967 appearance (by the G2 model) in The Graduate.—Brent Ledger
