A year-round lawn games bar is coming to College West
Good news for those of you who think the 60-plus crowd gets all the best sports: you no longer have to wait until your golden years to take up shuffleboard. That’s because Toronto’s getting its very own indoor lawn games bar, and it opens April 17. Track & Field Bar, owned by the folks behind Montauk, has taken over the space on College near Ossington formerly occupied by The Cave nightclub, and will cater to those who want to do something while drinking but are nervous about that something involving an axe. The 5,000-square-foot space features two bocce ball lanes and two shuffleboard decks, one of each saved for walk-ins and all available to play free of charge. And for those waiting for a lane to free up: crokinole boards will be available for a little sit-down play. And, as Adam Vaughan and Gord Perks know, lawn games are best enjoyed with a bit of booze, so there’s that too. Following in Montauk’s steps, there will be classic and signature cocktails on tap, as well as bottled, canned and draught beer.

You guys are missing the point: most of this blog’s information comes from user submission.
If there is something happening on the east side worth reporting, you should submit it to thedish@torontolife.com and they will likely post an article.
I’ve reported stories before that have gone up based on things happening in my area, but it seems as if the only thing happening on the east side is people whining about no news on the east side.
If there is something happening, send them an email. They will post a story.
you’re missing the point john. for one, maybe tl now DOES rely on others to do their work which is another example of how they became lazy and narrow. and congratulations on ‘reporting’ stories… maybe you should stick to that instead of griping about someone else’s posts that you can’t seem to help yourself when it comes to referring to them. like today. you were shooting your mouth off before darren posted anything so it shows you to be a bit of a hypocrite and a LOT of a troll. and has been pointed out on the message boards before, tl prefers to keep in the bubble anyway. the detroit style pizza opening in leslieville being the perfect example. it was in now. it was on blogto. it was in the star and a couple of other places. essentially everywhere but here. because it’s not hipster enough. stop with the phony outrage and the all caps GOD nonsense when you clearly are looking for it.

No, you quite obviously do miss the point – it’s you, not everyone else. This isn’t a wiki or a Open File-type site. Lovely that you’ve made user suggestions. That isn’t what Darren’s posts are about. Why you feel the need to initiate pointless attacks on the efforts of others is beyond me, especially when you obviously don’t get it.
“Judy”…. until you can prove to me that you (and a few other Darren defenders conveniently using aliases) aren’t just Darren yourself, conversation over. If ‘Darren’ even is the pest’s real name.
To everyone else: just look at this Darren piece of work’s profile and how willing he is to engage in snarky, combative exchanges on countless other posts… yet never to address criticism of his stats. However there is always conveniently a whole fleet of the same phantom accounts who DO chime in… every single time out. In a remarkably identical tone and sharply critical manner as to each other and to him in his other posts. And the only time they ever do seem to show up on Toronto Life forums is to defend their man. Seriously, NOWHERE else on here. Always to voraciously stand behind the stat of an absolute online stranger… again, every single time out. Interesting!
