Mirage: The 2012 Versailles Gala For this year’s gala and live auction, Baroque opera company Opera Atelier takes inspiration from its April production of Jean-Baptiste Lully’s Armide, a tale of forbidden, Crusades-era romance between a Christian knight and a Muslim princess. Schumann and Shostakovich Schumann’s only piano concerto brims over with ardour and joy, an irresistible combo in the hands of American pianist Jonathan Biss.
