It’s no surprise that downtown restauranteurs have begun sniffing around Yonge and Eglinton, an area currently exploding with new condos. Earlier this year, the neighbourhood earned an authentic Neopolitan pizzeria. Now, it’s getting ramen. Touhenboku, the Queen West ramen shop known for its unusually springy noodles and friendly, anthropomorphic tree-stump mascot, is opening a second location at 2459 Yonge Street, smack in the middle of the Yonge-Eglinton strip. The new venue, which opens on May 29, looks to be a little glitzier than the bare-bones original, with exposed-brick walls, decorative barn board and even a crystal chandelier. Midtowners, prepare to slurp.
