What’s on the menu at Kwan’s new all-day dim sum restaurant
Auyung stripped down the dim sum menu of the original St. Clair location, and did away with the dining menu to create a list of 50 dishes that are available all day in various forms: steamed, pan or deep fried, wrapped or in congee.
Pan-fried turnip cakes. $3.
Har gow (steamed shrimp dumplings). $5.
Fried shrimp dumplings. $5.
Pan-fried soft chestnut cakes. $4.
Barbecue pork buns. $3.
Seafood dumpling soup. $6.
Cuttlefish in curry sauce. $5.
The restaurant isn’t currently licensed, so for now a selection of hot and cold teas are available. Wong says a drink list of premium sakes and spirits will debut soon.
The space, previously a Source Electronics store, was gutted, lined with banquettes and accented with wood and cool three-dimensional tiles. Wong plans to open a patio once the weather warms up.
