The other Salad King
The other Salad King
Linda Restaurant—which has long been located above its sister, Salad King, on Gould Street—is moving north. The sophisticated Thai spot recently opened its ornate doors at the Shops at Don Mills. We get a look inside and a preview of the menu.

Nothing special. They try to go for the upscale fine dining style but there was nothing fine dining about it except for its overpriced menu. The volume of the place gets really loud, cheap stained tables that are really cramped together. felt like i was dining at the same table with the people next to me. Menu is more like thai for those that are afraid of thai… honey lemon chicken, steak, chicken and king oyster mushrooms. doesn’t really fit in with the thai theme they were trying for. The overpriced spring rolls were more chinese than thai, comes in “four pieces” which is really 2 just cut in half on a ridiculously over sized plate. I tried the green curry which was alright, but it was accompanied by a half bowl of rice. an extra half bowl of rice costs another couple bucks. Linda herself made an appearance and made an attempt at some PR, she came off as phony as her menu.
At the end of the day i felt pretty ripped off. I probably won’t be going again
It wasn’t good at all. I’m not sure what all the hype was about this place opening as the food was very bland and overpriced. The mango salad was sliced mango on boston head lettuce with 2 slices of tomatoe – seriously? Save your money and drive over to a Springrolls or something.
