The Place: A pair of casual eateries tucked beneath The Fifth Inc.’s Richmond Street complex, which also houses upscale steakhouse The Fifth Grill and nightlife spots The Fifth Social Club and Cabin Five. The 7,000-square-foot space is divided in two sections: a daytime-only coffee shop filled with cozy armchairs and laptop-friendly tables; and a sprawling, rec room–style diner decked out in woodland-print textiles and other Canadiana, including a two-foot-tall wooden peacock perched on the bar.

The Food: Burgers, fish and chips, and other pub standards. The café serves grab-and-go soups, salads and wraps at lunch.

The Drinks: Coffee, tea and kombucha at the café. The pub has 14 beers on tap, including a house brew called The Fifth Stock Ale

The Numbers:
• 7000 square feet
• 15 months to give the former nightclub space a rustic Canadiana makeover
• 5 venues under one roof/corporate umbrella
• 1 commercial kitchen for the pub and café
• 1 life-size wooden marionette perched behind the hostess stand
