Yesterday, a Chowhound thread alerted us that French eatery Le Rossignol is in real-estate limbo after a year-and-a-half in its Queen Street East location. When we followed up, we were told that Le Rossignol—along with chef Micheal Gravenor—has “moved in” with sister restaurant Le Canard Mort, which now offers a “Rossignol Menu” with a three-course prix fixe and eight à-la-carte options. According to the latter’s website, the rather unorthodox arrangement is only supposed to last until Richard Henry, the owner of both restaurants, can find new digs for Le Rossignol. (We’re trying very hard at this point to refrain from a “too many cooks” joke.) Meanwhile, something called Viva Toucan Taco Bar will open in Le Rossignol’s old location as soon as renovations are done.
