Maker Pizza opens in Chinatown

Toronto’s newest delivery-king contender, Maker Pizza, is selling pies faster than they can churn out dough. Since the shop opened last Monday, it has consistently sold out of food by 6 p.m. Owner Shlomo Buchler (formerly of FBI Pizza) recruited Parts & Labour’s Matty Matheson to create a classic pizzeria take-out menu of sandwiches, salads, wings and, of course, pizzas. There’s ready-made ones with punny names (like the mini meatball–topped Apocalypse Cow), or guests can customize a red or white base with their choice of toppings. It’s a take-out joint (there’s only one communal table and no liquor license), and delivery service is available within a five-kilometre radius of the shop—let’s hope it isn’t done by skateboard.
