Parisian macaron creator Ladurée may (or may not) be opening a Toronto location
National Post society and gossip columnist Shinan Govani set Twitter a-titter yesterday after dropping one of his signature random tips:
Supersaturated tip-off: cult Parisian macaron shop, Ladurée, opening in Toronto next year. Empire already extends to NYC, Dubai, Japan, etc.

Ladurée, which was founded in 1862, is widely credited with having invented the macaron, that colourful, bite-sized pastry that’s rivalled only by the cupcake as Toronto’s trendiest baked good. Although the company’s spokespeople were unavailable for comment about a Toronto expansion, Céline Kaplan, who tweets on behalf of the brand, did pull a classic neither-confirm-nor-deny response to Govani’s original tweet:
@shinangovani Rumor not confirmed by Ladurée.

So there’s that.
