Tucked at the back of Bottom Line sports bar—and identified only by a small sign sandwiched between baseball-blaring flat screens—is Hidden Burger, the core’s new secret lunch counter. The burgers here are no-frills stacks: four-ounce flat top–griddled patties layered with American cheese, pickles, tomato, onion and shredded lettuce. Want a substitution? Too bad. Want them to hold the onions? It won’t happen. “They’re simple burgers, like the one’s Jughead’s always eating,” says co-owner (and ex-NHLer) Wayne Cowley, which is why he and his business partner, Olivier Centner, plastered the walls with Archie covers. The short menu (cheeseburgers, double cheeseburgers and twice-fried fries) includes the Jughead Platter: 10 burgers with fries and jalapeno dip for $100.

Of note to Bay Streeters: this May, Hidden Burger is launching an app so that customers order in advance—and everything ordered through the app will be cheaper. “We’re rewarding efficiency,” says Centner. There will even be a feature where someone can opt to be an “order ambassador, ” i.e. the person who leaves the office to pick up a bunch of burgers. The ambassador’s reward? Free lunch.
