New gourmet takeout shop selling cheesy comfort dishes is opening in the Junction
Cut The Cheese, the latest restaurant capitalizing on the childhood food nostalgia trend, is bringing upscale versions of grilled cheese and mac ‘n cheese to The Junction this summer. Like Kensington Market hipster mainstay The Grilled Cheese, Cut The Cheese’s menu is amusing in its specificity and alarming in its disregard for early onset heart disease—everything has cheese.
On the one hand, I’m super excited at the thought of a mac and cheese / grilled cheese place in my neck of the woods. On the other hand, I am always deeply concerned when a new restaurant describes themselves as a ‘first location’. Maybe open the business and see if you don’t suck before you get starry-eyed visions of a chain of locations, hrmm?
The name turns me off. It seems more juvenile than amusing. My 5 year old nephew will find it hilarious, though!
Hi Jacquilynne,
We took your comment into consideration and you’re absolutely right. We are just really excited to open our doors and we have big dreams. Our focus is to make Cut The Cheese in the Junction an awesome business by providing our customers with great food and a memorable experience before even thinking about expansion.
We appreciate your concern and look forward to having you at our store once we open :)
All the best and stay cheesy,
Randal – Owner
Just a horrible name. Connecting somebody’s appetite with human gas concurrently is dumb, not fun.
Love this place! I go as often as possible now for my fix of cheesy goodness. If I have to pick a fave dish, so far its the Egg-Cellent, but they’re all way up at the top of my chart.
I have to wonder about people put off by the name of the place way before it even opened. May I suggest something less frightening, like McDonald’s?
