Leslieville’s Glas Wine Bar is getting in on the tasting menu trend that’s been sweeping Toronto restaurants. Yours Truly led the charge with their Carte Blanche menu last year, followed by Keriwa (which later reversed course), Actinolite, Buca, Farmhouse Tavern and Chantecler, whose menu launches this weekend (stay tuned for more on that). Glas’s four-course menu, dubbed the Green Glas Affair, distinguishes itself by being strictly vegetarian, shrewdly targeting a market for high-end veggie fare that’s underserved in meat-mad Toronto (it also brings tasting menus to a part of town that’s often slightly out of step with prevailing food trends). The meal costs $35, or $60 with two-ounce pairings, and will be available each Tuesday starting next week.
