Nobody really watches hockey anymore? Au contraire, Tiger

Some golfing fella who goes by the name Tiger Woods had the gall to say “I don’t think anybody really watches hockey anymore.” Over at Cbc.ca, the story has sent the comments section into overdrive. It would have been less controversial if he’d said our flag was for dorks. I suppose he never watches lacrosse or curling, either. A proposal for corrective measures after the jump.

Notably, Woods hasn’t made an appearance at the Canadian Open Golf tournament since 2001. I suspect he’s no longer welcome in Canada now. But wouldn’t it be great if he did play here? Let’s just say he might find himself on the wrong end of some creative clubwork. We could bring Tie Domi out of retirement to play for the Canadian team. Bobby Clarke, too. The golfing referees up here would no doubt look the other way while the boys took care of business. That’s how we like our golf in Canada.
