Toronto’s only Indonesian restaurant is now home to Toronto’s only Dutch-Indonesian cocktail bar. Named after the colonial capital of what was once the Dutch East Indies (now known as Jakarta, Indonesia), Bar Batavia is Little Sister’s new upstairs lounge, serving signature drinks alongside Dutch-Indo bar snacks. Right now, guests can munch on things like satays and shrimp chips with peanut sauce, but the new year will bring in more Dutch favourites, like a unique take on nachos and something called “cheese toasties” (better known around these parts as “grilled cheese sandwiches”).
