Between TIFF and Uncle Tetsu’s, the core is knotted with line-ups. And now Sweet Jesusanother queue-causer, has joined the melée. Last Friday, ice cream lovers were lined up out the door of the dairy bar’s new downtown location for its over-the-top frozen treats. The shoebox-sized spot is attached the soon-to-open third La Carnita location. Of the dozen cones on offer, most—like the Krusty the Cone (a cotton-candy tufted soft-serve cone that resembles The Simpson’s funniest mensch)—have been served at Home of the Brave over the past year. New additions include The Elvis (pictured), a spire of banana-flavoured soft-serve dipped in peanut butter and candied bacon bits, and fruity paletas like the white chocolate ice cream and raspberry blondie chunk number (also pictured above). The shop’s espresso-based drinks, made with beans roasted by De Mello Palheta, can also be consumed with a churro or two.
