A Moroccan dine-and-dance cave opens underground By Karen Steward

The former subterranean music room of C’est What? is now a chic Middle East–inspired resto-lounge. The 2,500-square-foot chamber is awash in warm hues from tigerwood flooring, as well as lanterns and tables hand-picked by owner Jamil Kamal from the souks of Marrakesh. Lounge-themed Thursdays see 30-something professionals unwind on pillow-lined banquettes; the pomegranate martinis ($13) and Arabic-influenced house music have been known to incite late-night belly dancing.

Tip: gratis marinated olives with sumac, citrus and roasted cipollini beat bar nuts any day.
