Destination Parks for Kids

Summertime isn’t just about patios and beaches. For parents, it means finding new ways to occupy the kids. Here are six free parks worth the trek across town By Cameron Tulk

THE JAMIE BELL ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND
Just inside the High Park Boulevard entrance to High Park, at Parkside Drive
If you’ve seen one playground, you’ve seen them all—unless that playground happens to look more like a castle. Designed after real kids were asked what their dream park would look like, this huge, multi-level structure is something out of a fairytale, with four turrets for children to defend against parents wanting to get home for dinner (have a picnic at one of the many surrounding tables instead). For younger tots, there’s a smaller castle to fool around in.
