The Moët & Chandon–sponsored after-party for the Peter Chelsom film Hector and the Search for Happiness was a relatively quiet affair. Stars Toni Collette, Stellan Skarsgård, Christopher Plummer and Rosamund Pike never showed at Michael’s on Simcoe, where the event was held—though we couldn’t fault the pregnant Pike for staying away. Simon Pegg did his part though, working the crowd in a smart three-piece suit. (His own answer to happiness, he said, was “sparkling water.”) He opted to mingle, and didn’t once sit in his designated VIP booth. The party was one of the least star-crazed we’ve seen so far during TIFF 2014. It made for a quiet end to a not-so-quiet weekend.
