Susan Sarandon is a woman who likes her privacy. At the intimate Park Hyatt after-party for The Last of Robin Hood, the actor duly responded to reporters’ questions on the red carpet, but, once finished, slipped away to a corner booth. Joining her: several producers and Jonathan Bricklin, her business partner in ping-pong empire Spin (he’s also rumoured to be her boyfriend, which might explain why we noticed her surreptitiously touching his knee). Co-star Kevin Kline was more gregarious, stepping onto the patio, doffing his coat and chatting with fans. Meanwhile, young actress Dakota Fanning didn’t even show, earning some clucks from reporters. Said one: “If Susan Sarandon can make it, you better make sure you do too.” Hear, hear.
