A very pregnant Bryce Dallas Howard co-hosted a cocktail in honour of women in the film industry last night with Kate Spade creative director and co-president Deborah Lloyd. In the conveniently pink-painted dining hall of the cozy Harbord Room, guests sipped pink-themed drinks (rosé champagne) and nibbled on chickpea fritters, Angus sliders and fresh oysters, all served on pink napkins. In February of this year, Howard was announced as the face of Kate Spade and launched the colourful collection of Scout satchels that can often be spotted along the Yorkville strip. She spent most of the night kindly greeting her guests, sipping on black-cherry soda and, you know, doing that whole pregnancy-glow thing. Check out the scene at the Harbord Room in a gallery after the jump.

Other guests included the man with the moustache, Jason Lew, writer of the Howard-produced Gus Van Sant film Restless (which premiered Thursday night) and Jessica Chastain, who stole the show in a gold lamé mini dress and staggeringly high matching gold shoes. The Grid referred to Chastain as a Bryce Dallas Howard doppelgänger, but after seeing them side by side in the flesh, we can safely say that pregnancy is just one of the many things differentiating these ginger starlets. Chastain mingled like a sorority girl, laughing out loud (seriously) and telling stories about how crazy life is right now—she’s currently promoting three films. The evening with Howard ended in a pink haze: guests darted to the door with their kelly green gift bags and headed to the next party (where nothing pink was served).
