Worst-dressed couple at TIFF? Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban
Who spent more time on their hair, Nicole Kidman or Keith Urban? That was our first thought when we saw the celebrity couple on the red carpet for Rabbit Hole at the Elgin Theatre Monday night. (We’re fairly certain Urban has his own flat-iron.)
Our second thought: they might very well be the worst-dressed A-listers at the film festival. It’s rare for a star to do all-out Oscar-style attire when walking the red carpets at TIFF (it’s an 11-day business meeting, after all), but Kidman’s dress was straight-up boring and sack-like, and Urban wore jeans. Not even dark-denim jeans. Distressed jeans! What the what, guys?

And by the way, Kidman is receiving great reviews and Oscar buzz for her performance in ‘Rabbit Hole’. Why don’t you report about that? It would be far more interesting (and true).
Keith would look a lot better if he got rid of the growth to the left of that photo.
Who the heck cares what they wore to a movie premiere about the loss of losing a child? There is such a thing as downplaying the glam factor. Interesting Nicole said today at her press conference she doesn’t care about fashion as much anymore which probably explains the very simple looks she’s been going for lately. The “sack” you described is Prada by the way and her favorite Bottega Veneta clutch. Above you it says the site is a “critical guide”. Not living up to the label are you?
You writers are crazy!! They look terrific to me! You writers of this column must have nothing better to do than tear down people who obviously look better than you!!
OMG, they look gorgeous! What’s the matter with you? It’s a film festival, not the Oscars. AND she’s wearing Prada! You either need glasses or a new job. The Urbans are a class act!
I think they both look great. Nicole looks elegant and her dress is beautiful. And I am sorry, Keith looks great no matter what he wears, but he looks very nice in what he wore!!

They look fine. Very classy and down to earth. You just are trying to say something negative where there isn’t anything to say.
the fact that there’s even an article about Keith and Nicole’s attire shows that our culture needs to find a new hobby!
My Goodness, what in the world are you talking about! Nicole is a lovely, beautiful woman and Keith a devastatingly handsome man. He looks great and she looks beautiful. They look comfortable, after all they are getting ready to sit through a movie. They look happy, content and actually they both kind of have a glow about them!! It must be that wonderful old thing called real LOVE!! I think it is just possible that Nicole wanted to be comfortable, well dressed but not over the top, so you would all concentrate on the film and not what she wore! Her husband followed suit and went in the comfortable Keith Urban style which is perfection!! Poor Nicole, good thing she is well loved, because she cannot win with some of you writers!! Her fans love her and Keith’s fans love him and mostly they are one and the same, fans and admirers of them both!! Nicole is a marvelous actor and I am anxiously waiting for this film, so happy it was well received!!

Yes, let’s focus on the fact that he’s not wearing dark-denim jeans . . . because that’s what’s going to solve the world’s problems.
God forbid we focus on the fact that he’s there to support his wife while he has a busy career of his own. God forbid we talk about the fact that they are still married and seem to be an extremely nice, genuine couple.
If I had it my way, more people would show up looking like them at premieres and awards shows. The crazy emphasis on image in this society seriously needs to stop.
This couple is amazing! Not only do they always look so happy, but incredibly supportive of each other. Both look very classy and are such great humanitarians. I for one am happy they found each other and have such a beautiful daughter! A very talented couple!
The editor of this newspaper needs to take a hard look at who he/she has writing this column. As a journalist/senior editor myself, I would question your judgment in attacking these people. Someone needs to have a very long, serious chat with you.
Good camera angle and placement of Keith slightly closer to it than Nicole – she’s about 5 inches taller. And I thought they looked great BTW.

Keith looks good in anything.Nic is very talented and so is Keith..Im sure it just pings you writers off cause they are so happy..thought this was about Nics new movie..???
I really admire how Keith and Nicole look! The look happy and relaxed and true to life. They look like everyday people. Bev
