Drake arguably doesn’t need Juno Awards, what with his wealth and his mega-fame—and that’s a good thing, because he seldom wins them. Nevertheless, he’s on the just-released 2014 nomination list several times over, and so are a bunch of other Toronto artists.

Aside from Drake’s four nominations (for Fan Choice, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and Rap Recording of the Year), Toronto has plenty of other hometown favourites to root for at this year’s ceremony, which will take place in Winnipeg on March 30. Blue Rodeo scored a nod in the Group of the Year category. Local acts Born Ruffians and July Talk are both in the running for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Deadmau5, Toronto’s big-deal EDM impresario, is nominated for Dance Recording of the Year, while Drake’s pal The Weeknd is up for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year.

Also on the nomination list are local names like Ron Sexsmith, Basia Bulat, The Darcys and Yamantaka//Sonic Titan, as well as many others (let us know who we’ve omitted in the comments). Justin Bieber is nominated for Fan Favourite, which, good luck. But man, that Drake, so underappreciated. We think this is his year.
