Current Obsession: what the chameleonic Colm Feore is loving right now

Feore, who’s known for embodying Shakespearean heroes and blockbuster baddies with equal relish, stars in two of the year’s biggest movies: this month’s Tom Clancy reboot, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in May. “When I’m on the road, I take my iPad and watch Bourdain’s travel show. It brings me comfort when I’m eating alone in a foreign hotel room. I think, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to be dining in Sicily with Anthony right now?’”

Homage to Catalinia
GEORGE ORWELL’S
Homage to Catalinia

“On a recent trip to Barcelona, I was drinking a glass of wine and reading Homage to Catalonia when I realized I was in Orwell Square. The book is about people being cold, hungry and miserable during the Spanish Civil War.”

Shoah
CLAUDE LANZMANN’S
Shoah

“I’m plowing my way through the nine-hour Holocaust documentary. As an actor, I’m always trying to understand how people think and behave. It’s useful to draw in those threads from history.”
