Toronto had way more potholes than usual this year
—The number of potholes that city workers had filled in 2014 as of Monday, according to figures reported by CP24. That’s about as many potholes as were filled in all of 2012 and 2013, combined. The city is blaming the surge on last year’s unusually harsh winter.
Sorry to disappoint. Even though that is an ‘impressive’ number of
Toronto city road potholes, Montreal has so many potholes it’s too
embarrassing to make the count public. I guess a city spoke would have
that infomation but reluctant to give it. Instead expect him/her to spin
and spit out the millions Montreal spends on its roadways. And here’s a
delicious fact. Keep in mind testimony revealed that “80% of the
city’s asphalt” for those pot holed roads was supplied by one named
Tony Accurso, a prominent name and witness in the Charbonneu organized
crime inquiry. An architect friend of mine swears “they cooked the
asphalt one degree more than required” so once paved the new road would
develop fissures within 6 month because the asphalt would decompose
quicker. Add Montreal’s infamous blue collar gang to actually ‘maintain’
these roads, + admittedly some harsh winters interspersed with frigid
temps and thaws in February, and you have a formula for Montreal
reigning as the pot hole capital of North America, and Europe, and…
