Chris Bosh Watch: Bosh does for Heat what he never did for the Raps—lead the team to playoff glory
With the Raptors out of the playoffs, we need to get our basketball fix somewhere, so we’re turning to Chris Bosh—just as we did for the seven years he played for the Toronto Raptors. And just like in those seven years, the experience is a mix of love and hate.
In the first round of the post-season, Bosh is doing something he always talked about doing in Toronto but never actually did: leading his team to playoff glory. The former Raptors franchise player has been a dominant force through the first two games of the Miami Heat’s opening round match-up with the Philadelphia 76ers. The big fella has back-to-back double-doubles, tallying 25 points and 12 rebounds in the Heat’s 97-89 victory on Saturday before turning in 21 points and 11 rebounds as his squad embarrassed the Sixers 94-73 last night.

The ex-Raptor finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds in 34 minutes — his second straight post-season double-double — and was, in many ways, the best player on the court as the Heat took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
With the majority of the attention focused on LeBron James (29 points) and Dwyane Wade (14 points), Bosh was able to dominate for stretches. He had 13 of his points and seven of his rebounds in the first half as the Heat used some stifling defence to put away the Sixers.
What Bosh did would come as no surprise to anyone who saw him play for seven years in Toronto. He hit a series of mid-range jumpers, had a couple of nifty turnarounds on the baseline [and] a handful of solid post moves and ran the screen-roll effectively with whoever was running the point.
In a lead role in Toronto, Bosh failed to take over the game when it counted. But as part of the supporting cast in Miami, Bosh has elevated his game down the stretch and become the perfect complement to his superstar teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Now, the question is whether it will last.
