Tony Clement understands the law of the Twitter: the more one mentions Justin Bieber, the more popular one’s tweets become. It was serendipitous, then, that the Bop cover boy cut in front of the industry minister at the St. John’s airport just as they were jetting out ahead of the Icelandic volcano expectorate (is it just us, or is that cloud seeming more and more like The Nothing from The Neverending Story?). “I’ve been Bieberized!” tweeted Clement. “His entourage cut right in front of me in the Air Canada line!! I feel so used…”

Apparently, the laws of Twitter extend into legacy media, too, as the whole story was recounted by Jane Taber today on the Globe’s site. We couldn’t help but notice that even though the two gentlemen share a love of unnecessary ellipses, Mr. Clement didn’t make it into Bieber’s Twitter feed—not even a mention of receiving “Clement-cy” for disrupting the line. It’s a nice reminder of who really holds the power in this country.
