On a Halloween marked by media frenzy, crack video revelations (it exists, in case you missed it) and a Twitterlanche of witty commentary, we wanted to pull out a barely reported story that the Toronto Sun ran yesterday and buried at the bottom of their homepage. A Forum Research poll of 1,093 Torontonians that was obtained by the Sun put mayor Rob Ford’s approval rating just 39 per cent. Only 18 per cent of those polled described him as “one of Toronto’s best mayors,” while 39 per cent called him “one of Toronto’s worst mayors” and 54 per cent disapprove of city council as a whole. “The anti-Ford Nation is really, really motivated,” Lorne Bozinoff, Forum president, told the Sun’s Don Peat. “They just hate the mayor.” Seeing as all of this went down before this morning’s revelations, it‘s very possible the Anti-Ford camp is now being flooded with even more defectors.
