QUOTED: Doug Ford explains how a new study on the Port Lands proves how smart he is
– Doug Ford, on how the results of a new study on kick-starting the Port Lands development are pretty much exactly what he and his brother have been talking about this whole time. The latest proposal calls for more development—and therefore less green space—near the mouth of the Don River, all of which could be jumpstarted in a few years, depending on market conditions and a transit solution. Ford sees this extra dash of development as unequivocal proof that his (widely panned) hotel-and-mega-mall idea was just what the area needed. It’s probably only a matter of time now before he resumes his call for a monorail—or a subway. [Globe and Mail]
Should work on the Woodbine Live that’s in his Ward 2 first.
This would be a sad sad day in Toronto if the Portlands park is scaled down. Everybody complains that Toronto doesnt have enough parkland on its waterfront and its dominated by condos and hotels. Well, heres your chance to raise hell and save the last inch of waterfront with spectacular skyline views!
Pretty soon he’ll be claiming he invented the Internet, too.
