Least surprising political endorsement ever: John Tory supports Sandra Bussin’s opponent
John Tory’s clashes with Sandra Bussin are hardly news, but would he go so far as to endorse her opponent? Apparently, yes. In what is perhaps less of a straight-up approval than a mischievous attempt at retribution, John Tory is giving the thumbs up to Ward 32 challenger and Beach busybody Mary-Margaret McMahon. And if that news doesn’t shock, perhaps this will: Tory feels strongly enough about unseating Bussin that he’s willing to spend his Saturday morning canvassing the Beach with new-found political gal pal McMahon.
No doubt the anti-Bussin seeds were sown last year when the four-term councillor—a.k.a. “Sandra from Toronto” (see video, at left)—made her ill-advised phone call to Tory’s CFRB radio show. Her calling David Miller “the most brilliant municipal politician in the country” was just slightly less hysterical than her claim that she didn’t work at city hall and her calling Tory “a three-time loser.” For Bussin, who’s already under fire for her involvement in the Boardwalk Pub licensing affair, this can’t be good news.

Good riddance Sandra!! She serves no purpose whatsoever in the Beach. She jumps on the populist wagon versus doing whats right. Remember the homeowner who wanted to upgrade his own so his disabled wife could have a wheelchair and she jumped on the historical bandwagaon!!
Lets say Good bye Sandra and time for a CHANGE. Oh! BTW, which councillor spend almost the most & all their budget ? Well, Sandra is on that list!!!
This really confuses me. Why is John Tory endorsing a candidate that is further to the left of Bussin. Mr Tory are you not a conservative? Did you not research this candidate. You obviously have no integrity anymore. We in Ward 32 wanted change and are tired of being represented at city hall by socialsts. This candidate means 4 more years of the same.
I have lost all respect for you Tory and it is a good thing you did not run for Mayor.
I live and work in The Beach, however I haven’t decided who to vote for. I do believe it is time for change at City Hall.
I invite all Ward 32 voters to learn as much as possible about each of our candidates. There’s a second debate happening on October 19th 7pm at Kimbourne Park United Church (Danforth & Coxwell)
I compiled a series of videos of their speeches from the last meeting on my corporate blog here: http://oneillrealestate.ca/tag/ward-32/
See you all on October 25th!
So I took a look at her website, where she states: “I’m running for Local Democracy ‚bringing City Hall back to the community, being approachable, accessible, and accountable”
“Accountable” sounds conservative to me, and I like approachable and accessible too. I also note the awards she has received for community involvement.
Ms. Bussin is just an extra special reason to vote for someone who is already a good candidate.
Time for someone to take on Gord Perks, how about a humble “David” type that will listen to all of Parkdale-High Park and actually pay attention to Roncesvalles two year mess? Gord Perk’s eco-terrorism days could be over sooner than later.
