John Tory isn’t as good at mayoring as Rob Ford, says Rob Ford
For some, a demotion to city councillor after four years as mayor would be a humbling experience, but for Rob Ford, predictably, it hasn’t been that way. On Thursday, he did something ex-mayors rarely do: criticize his successor after a month on the job. “I wish John Tory the best of luck,” Ford told reporters on Thursday (off to a good start). “Maybe he has a different way of running the city.” (Yes.) “I just don’t like some of the stuff he’s doing already.” (Oh dear.) Ford is particularly incensed with Tory’s insistence on studying garbage privatization, rather than doing it purely on political instinct. Little wonder Tory wants Ford’s office soundproofed.
Oh my. Whatever…. Happy we have an adult as a mayor now.
What a pathetic sore loser. But we all knew that didn’t we? Poor Robbie, desparately needing the limelight even in his death throws.
Those comments are coming from the worst Toronto mayor of all time. Rob, you were so pathetic at the job, council had to strip away most of your powers. We don’t care what you think.
Some folks come on-line and attack others who demean Rob Ford. But when Rob Ford does it to the current mayor I doubt we will see those same people taking Ford to task for his criticisms.
Dear Rob, civic politics are not your forte’. Don’t the words ‘Oh, shut up!’ mean anything to you?
Throes.
I would want at least three feet of concrete, a moat, and a continent separating me from Rob Ford, ideally.
Rob Ford quote: “I just don’t like some of the stuff he’s doing already.”
I didn’t like ANY of the stuff Rob Ford was doing.
I didn’t like ANY of the stuff Doug Ford was doing, too.
That’s why I voted for John Tory.
Statements like the ones Rob Ford still makes prove the man to be irrelevant.
Sour grapes, Mr. Councillor?
Not even a brush with mortality can humble this guy. Rob- you had your day. Your comedic and tragic time in the spotlight is over. Be quiet , focus on your health, and let the grownups do the work of restoring the city’s reputation.
I suppose Rob Ford delusionally figures that just by making these statements the people of Toronto will reverse the election and re-install him as mayor again. What. An. Idiot.
Tory is about to bend to the unions, and not for the people. If he doesn’t privatize garbage pick up as promised, this will be the beginning of his end. He needs to do this.
Not if it doesn’t make financial or customer service sense. Don’t privatize just for the sake of privatizing if there are no benefits to the city or the households been served.
Wake up, the unions are pulling the strings.
Ford has such a need to be heard, to be in the public eye he needs to spit out this kind of ‘insight’. Ford was a train wreck, running the city meant we all had to be mired in his personal messes and dysfunctions. Good riddance, how refreshing it’s been to not feel I’m part of someone’s spiralling personal life not to mention how nice it’s been to not listen to lies everyday. Rob, focus on your health and shut up, no one needs to hear from you.
I’m in the east and before they privatized garbage pick up in the west. Garbage pick up in the east was a mess. They would spill and not clean up, they would toss your can all over the place and usually tipped over, once I had to walk down 3 houses to get my can back. If you said anything to the garbage men they would be rude. Now with privatization in the west and the threat of privatization in the east. My garbage bin is always back in front of my house and they clean up when they spill. They are behaving because they are not as secure as before. To me, to little too late. If they are saving 11 million in the west, they will save similar in the east. Anytime the government manages anything it becomes a mess. Look at what is happening to the Pan Am games. Ford wasn’t good for much, I agree, but he wasn’t afraid of the unions. Tory backs down on this, it is because he is afraid. In his campaign he said, he doesn’t need a study, the west end result was study enough. When they call for a study, that means they are manufacturing evidence to renege.
“Rob, its for you apparently you’re still irrelevant “
it’s called competition, something you wouldn’t have with total privatization
If Rob Ford had taken care of business in the city of Toronto over the pass 4 years, this city would have been that much closer to having things done…..and we would have all seen the light at the end of the tunnel…………..
