For those wondering where the all-powerful indie hipster vote was going to fall, Arcade Fire has spoken from the oracle that is their official Web site: “Our current leader has championed some pretty destructive initiatives on everyone’s behalf … it’s really important to get out and vote on May 2nd … Canada is still a pretty good country, and worth fighting for …” In addition, the page offers a few links to information the Montreal band believes voters should know, mostly about the tar sands, climate change and the G20. We agree; people should know about those things. But we’re mildly worried about a world in which four weeks from voting day, some electors would be surprised to learn how “our current leader” feels about these things.
