Ron White kicks off his 16th annual shoe drive in the Manulife Centre this Friday at 1 p.m. with an event that showcases celebrity-donated pairs, encouraging people to “follow in the footsteps of their favourite celebrity.” (We knew there had to be a pun like that somewhere.) This year’s charity partners include Dress for Success, Halton Women’s Place, New Circles, Ve’ahavta and Out of the Cold. Over the past 16 years, the shoe drive has collected more than 25,000 pairs of shoes and boots for those in need. Donors can bring in a pair of lightly used shoes and gawk at celeb kicks from Glee’s Max Adler and Josh Sussman, Modern Family’s Rico Rodriguez, Hawaii 5-0 and Lost’s Terry Quinn, Mad Men’s Robert Morse, David Arquette (the ex–Mr. Courtney Cox), Debi Mazar and Canadian funnywoman Catherine O’Hara. Alongside this year’s pairs, White will also display some past donations from the likes of Céline Dion, Matt Damon, Kevin Spacey, David Foster and Hilary Duff. What better way to assuage your holiday season guilt (we know we shouldn’t have yelled like that, Mom, but we’ll get married when we’re good and ready) than with an act of kindness?

Pairs will be collected at all Ron White locations across the city until February 5.
