Toronto GIF Showdown: Rob Ford puking versus a crazed Blue Jays fan

Yesterday saw the birth of two new GIFs that are sure to take their places in the Toronto GIF Hall of Fame next to classics like Rob Ford playing football (he fell) and the Raptors’ mascot rollerblading (he also fell). First, Ford displayed his well-honed sense of mayoral decorum by pretending to puke in response to Metrolinx’s shortlist of proposed taxes and fees to pay for transit expansion:

A few hours later at the Blue Jays home opener, the Cleveland Indians’ Jason Kipnis lost his grip on a bat, which sailed into the stands. Season ticket–holder Arron Barberian (of steakhouse fame) picked it up and pretended to threaten Kipnis, unleashing twenty seasons-worth of pent-up fan fury and delighting the sold-out crowd. (He later gave the bat back to game officials.)

The question is, which GIF won the day? Barberian has better acting chops—Ford shows none of the eye-bugging or back-rippling that mark a truly masterful fake vomit—but, then again, the crowd-revving antics weren’t enough to secure the Jays a win.
