Justin Bieber’s Massey Hall Christmas concert sells out in 30 minutes (prepare to be gouged by scalpers)
Do you have $1,999 to spare? That’s the highest price we’ve seen for a single front-row ticket on eBay for Justin Bieber’s Christmas concert at Massey Hall on December 21. Tickets for the show went on sale Sunday and sold out in 30 minutes; that means young boys and girls were armed with a parent’s credit card in front of their computers, but not everyone was rewarded for their time with a golden ticket. All proceeds from the concert will be going to the Biebz’s Believe charity, and the concert will be taped live for his upcoming Home for the Holidays TV special. Unfortunately, the $1,999 that a lonely person pays for a single front-row ticket will go toward lining the pockets of some sleazeball. Buyer beware.
Home for the Holidays airs Friday, December 23 at 1 p.m. (CTV), 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. (MuchMusic); Saturday, December 24 at 5:30 p.m. (CTV), 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. (MuchMusic); Saturday, December 25 at 6:30 p.m. (CTV) and 9 p.m. (MuchMusic); Monday, December 26 at 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. (MuchMusic); Tuesday, December 27 at 8 a.m. (MuchMusic); Sunday, January 1 at 8 p.m. (MuchMusic); and Tuesday, January 3 at 4 p.m. (MuchMusic).
Too bad that there are people so willing to shell out the gobs of $$ to hear a young guy sing when there are people in real need of health care and clothing not to mention food.
I think it is absolutely disgusting that people who have absolutely no intention of going to see the concert bought tickets to SCAM parents of young children. Personally I had a friend who tried to get 2 tickets for me and she was unsuccessful. I have been looking on Kijiji and I am horrified at what people are asking for these tickets. Justin is putting on this concert and giving all the proceeds to his ‘Believe’ charity and these people are doing nothing but filling their wallets with money from parents and children who only want to see Justin and hear him sing. Maybe they should give the the $ they make off the sale of the tickets to Justin’s charity as well. Because of these people my daughter and many many more girls will not be able to go see their ‘Idol’ sing.
I tried to get some tickets for my little cousin who wanted to go see Justin Beiber perform. These are CHILDREN who want to go and see their idols. These are childrens dreams that these disgusting, greed-filled monsters are crushing by taking these tickets and selling them 12 times their original cost. This is a CHARITY concert, Justin Beiber most likely wont be making $2000 off a ticket himself. I hope one day these greedy childrens-dreams-crushers need something badly for themselves, a necessity at that not just some event, and it will cost too much for them and they are denied access to it.
Its very sad that people buy the tickets to turn around and list them on craigslist and other websites for a ridiculous price. Justin Bieber is an idol to many children including my daughter who really wanted to see him. I tried for tickets and was unsuccessful. It disgusts me that Justin Bieber is putting on a special show and donating all the money to his charity for people to buy tickets and sell them for very high prices.
i realy want to go but i did0nt no it was sooooold already
Well, Merry Christmas Scalpers. We wanted to go and could not get tickets
I have a very sad child at home because mommy wasnt fast enough to get through and you had a limit of 4. My sister got through and got her 4, but couldnt add 2 more for me and my daughter. Than you go on line and they want you to pay up to $2000.0.. Disgusting is what i say, and to all of you who bought tickets purposely to sell them at a higher cost-shame on you!!! These are children, young ones in fact who just want to go and see there idol. This has left a very sour taste for me and my daughter!!
Me, my mom, and my best friend waited on 1 computer, 2 cell phones, and 3 laptops on the website from 11am to 4pm (when they were selling) and still didn’t get tickets. While waiting we made a bright, VERY creative, poster that we put a lot of time and effort into making for the concert. Then when it was time we were put on some ‘waiting in line’ thing that had a count down and it told us that we would get tickets, which was obviously a lie because we waited an extra half hour until we realized it was sold out. I have been crying since then, and even asked two sellers on ebay to lower the prices but both declined my offer. Justin Bieber should do something about this, because now my Christmas and many other childrens will be spent heart broken.
Yes it is horrible my two little girls are very upset that we can’t go can’t pay 2000 a ticket hopefully Justin will see this and help his fans out
Those whom go to concerts often must deal with scalpers regularly. I love that people are livid, like this isn’t a daily reality in the city. Kudos to those quick enough to snag tickets and make a buck off people’s poor taste.
I like MANY others was not able to get through to buy tickets and have since been subjected to not only scalpers higher than reasonable prices but also SCAMMERS who don’t really have tickets to sell but are willing to take your money for an offer of tickets. My daughter has been absolutely crushed by this experience. I was a concert goer all through my teens & 20’s but I don’t think I have ever been through anything as bad (disgusting) as I have been through this week trying to get JB tickets.
I just love how people are so horrified that scalpers are making so much money selling these tickets. Yes I ended up getting 4 tickets to this show and yes I scalped them and made a nice sum to pay for Christmas presents.
My grudge with these disgruntled parents is that you bitch and complain that these scalpers are making sooo much money by charging ridiculous prices, Have you idiots ever stopped to think how much Polo, Apple and Nike make off of you. They have their products made in sweatshops in Third World Countries by children and pay them meagre wages that probably barely cover living expenses, This is occurring because you buy their products. Yet when was the last time you complained when you had to pay for a $40 Tshirt.
Stop paying ridiculous prices to take your spoiled brats to these concerts and guess what guys like me will go out of business.
Tis the season to be caring and giving, people gave and I thank them.
It’s easy for people to complain about us that can afford to attend a concert like this. I am speaking to you Daddy Bear – Maybe you should realize that people like me give thousands of dollars to charity’s every year, work at food banks on the weekend, donate gifts to children in need and spend time at Sick kids with children.
It frustrates me when ignorant people make statements of no merit of facts.
Happy Holidays!
Let’s all remember there’s 2 sides to the ticket story, Sellers AND Buyers. And in this case teenage buyers are enabled by parents lol. And the ever popular capitalistic ‘supply & demand” is alive & well here.
And just sayin’ … if Justin charged $5/ticket for his concerts he’d still be a gazillionnaire.
My kids got super lucky & got a pair on-line & they were expensive from get-go. BTW, who gets the ‘Charitable Tax Deduction” for Massey Hall show … Me the money provider? or Justine?
Everyone’s so quick to point fingers but in all this I ask … “Who’s the bad guy” lol?
(fyi for context … this is coming from a 51 yr old dad)
My daughters were very lucky to go tonight with their father. It was almost impossible to get tickets. It was really sad to see 10 pages on Kijiji of people begging for tickets for their children. To ask $2000.00 for 1 ticket is horrendous. I saw one add 3 tickets for $4300.00. Shame on those who do this. It sickens me that scalpers got away with this tonight. I pray people didn’t pay these prices and left the scoundrels with pockets of unpaid tickets
My sister and I both went on our computers to get tickets at the same time. She got through first and we got 4 tickets, then I got through, but I released them back because I could never buy them just for the sake of re-selling them to make a profit knowing how many kids were hoping to get them!! It’s a little thing, but I feel great about my decision!!
Man, what was your secret to getting those tickets……twice! I clicked the “buy tickets” button even a little before 4 right when it became available and was left in the cue to never get tickets for my girls. Hope you guys enjoyed the show…once in a lifetime.
Yes I agree tha the “scalpers are disgusting, but but what about the fact that the ticket broakers and VIP’s get all of the best tickets. You have no chanceof going on line to buy a ticket in the fires 25 rows, they are already gone by the time the tickets are on sale. the whole system is a scam.
